Getting to Know my Cricut Explore Air 2

January 31, 2017 By: ranaefrances5 Comments

I love to craft almost as much as I love to cook, but can I let you in on a little secret? I’m a lazy crafter. My office is filled with partially finished knitting projects, and yards of fabric. I am a fan of instant gratification when it comes to crafts. When I attended the Blended Blogger Conference in September of 2016, I was excited to meet some ladies from Cricut, and had a blast making my own coaster. The crafting possibilities felt endless, and to my delight, they seemed achievable!

I am excited to partner with Cricut to share with you my unbiased experiences as I get to know my Cricut Explore Air™ 2 machine. They have generously provided me with a machine and supplies, but these are my honest impressions. I would not endorse or share with you something with which I am not truly delighted. This helps me to continue providing you with awesome content.

If you’ve never heard of a Cricut, it is a machine that helps you create DIY projects in minutes! It has changeable tool holders, allowing you to write, draw, score or cut materials (precise enough for card stock, and tough enough for leather.)

Cricut sent me an Cricut Explore Air™ 2 machine, and as luck would have it, my cousin received the same machine for Christmas. It has been so fun getting to see the projects she has completed using her machine. I received my package last week, and was eager to try it out.

It was well packaged, and the box included a blade and pen, a cutting mat, power supply, and a cord to connect the machine to my PC. Speaking of PCs, one great feature of the Explore Air 2 is the embedded Bluetooth, which allows for wireless cutting. The machine is a beautiful mint color, with chrome accents that make it look very luxe. It has storage compartments for extra pens, blades, and tools.

I set up my Cricut account, and downloaded the Cricut Design Space™ app, which allows me to design straight from my phone! When you set up your machine, it walks you through your first project, making a cute little card. All the materials you need for this project are included in the packaging.

I was surprised at how easy the Explore Air 2 was to use, and how quickly it printed and cut my card. I love that I have the option to come up with projects on my own, or Cricut Design Space™ has hundreds of ready-to-go designs. I can’t wait to create some custom shirts, water bottles, and wine glasses with my Cricut Explore Air 2, and much, much more!

Do you have a Cricut? If so, what are your favorite projects to create? What would you like to see me make with mine? Let me know in the comments, and thanks for reading!

I am the least crafty person ever and I feel like I might be able to use this. Can’t to see what you create next.
