A couple of weeks ago my husband and I did the Downtown Community 5k sponsored by Zappos, which is headquartered in downtown Las Vegas.
This race was put on by Jus Run, and like their other races I have done, it was very organized and a great time. Packet pickup was held at a running store not far from my house, which made it very convenient.
This race was held in downtown Las Vegas, near the Fremont Street Experience. Parking can sometimes be a hassle, but Zappos opened their private lot to race participants. I met up with some friends before the start, and ended up walking and chatting with a new friend throughout the race. I had not done this particular course before, and it snaked around the neighborhood and came back to finish beside Zappos headquarters, where a health expo was being held.
There were lots of friendly volunteers, and an organized aid station on the course, and the live DJ at the finish line added to the fun! A tent was set up with lots of refreshments and cold water, and of course some awesome medals!
This was a fun event for all fitness levels and I would definitely consider doing it again next year!
