When my editor at Girls on Food asked me try The Taste Box, I jumped at the chance. The Taste Box offers curated boxes with at least 3-4 full size products, that are available by subscription. This month’s theme was “Pasta with Love,” and let me tell you, it was love at first sight!
I received this box for free, in exchange for my review, but all opinions are my own.
This box contained seven items that would have cost over $60 if individually purchased.
- Centonze Olive Oil
- Strianese Pomodoro tomatoes
- Il Tartufo Di Palolo Black Truffle Oil
- Just a Pinch Fleur de Sel
- Afeltra Spaghetti
- Conserve Del Nonna Basil Tomato Sauce
- Conserve Del Nonna Arrabbiata Sauce
Recipes were included with the box, but I decided to come up with a few of my own, including this easy Spaghetti with Burst Sauce. (I also created a DELICIOUS recipe for Shakshuka, check it out on Girls on Food, here.) Burst sauce is created when tomatoes literally burst from being heated, and the juices form the sauce. It is fresh, light, and oh-so-flavorful.
For this recipe, I used salt, pasta, and olive oil.
First, half your tomatoes and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the tomatoes and roast in a 425 degree oven for 10-15 minutes, depending on how well-roasted you prefer your tomatoes.
While the tomatoes are roasting, cook pasta according to package directions. Shred some good Parmesan cheese, and chiffonade, or tear some fresh basil.
When tomatoes are finished cooking, roughly stir on the baking sheet or roasting pan to crush tomatoes and release more juices. Toss with cooked, drained pasta, garnish with cheese and fresh basil.
Curated boxes like The Taste Box make trying new products easy, and affordable. They make a great gift idea too, for the foodies in your life!
