I have the most success at weight loss when I am measuring my food. On the go I will use tips like these to guesstimate my portion sizes, but at home I like to get the most accurate measurements possible.
I’ve partnered with EatSmart to tell you about their Precision Digital Scale, and while they provided me with a free product for the purpose of my review, all opinions are my own. Why do I prefer to use a scale to measure my food, vs. counting the items out (when applicable), or using measuring cups? For starters, counting items can give you a general idea, but think of how items like produce can vary by size. I was measuring out some Cotton Candy Grapes today to stick in the freezer, and decided to see how different serving sizes looked, in terms of volume measurement, weight, and counting them out.
My internet searches yielded multiple answers to what constitutes a serving size of grapes, but the most common answers were: 1 cup, 6 oz., or 28
grapes. The problem with counting grapes, is that not all grapes are the same size.
Using a measuring cup is a better method than counting out items, but unless you want to figure out how much empty space exists between the grapes, you might be selling yourself short portion-wise. For someone who is counting their macro nutrients and needing the most accurate measurements, a food scale is the way to go!
The easy to read display on the EatSmart Precision Digital Scale shows you the difference in portions, each weighed out. While I was measuring weight in ounces, it’s easy to switch to grams with just a few clicks of the display. I also really like how easy this scale is to clean after use. It doesn’t take up very much space in my cupboards either.
I would recommend the EatSmart Precision Digital Scale to anyone who wants accurate measurements for calculating their portions, without spending a lot of money. This scale retails for just $9.99 on Amazon, and is available on Amazon Prime.
Thanks again EatSmart for sending me this scale to try out! Once again, although I did receive this product for free, for review purposes, these honest opinions are all my own.
